This custom artificial silkworm diet recipe is exclusively manufactured to Coastal Silkworms™ specifications. Sealed in a bulk, food grade metallized poly bag. This bag offers two-layers of protection from both light and moisture, prolonging storage. Bags can be stored for 2 years unopened in a cool dry environment. After opening, keep food in a dry dark environment, or under refrigeration for longer life. Cooked food stored under refrigeration remains fresh for one month. Using silkworm chow in place of fresh mulberry leaves allows for continued yearlong growth, extending growing seasons when no mulberry leaves are available in the winter. Its recommended to only feed silkworm chow and not mix with fresh mulberry leaves, or your silkworms may refuse going back on the chow. After following the cooking instructions below, the food will be ready to feed. Using a food grater, follow the feeding instructions for your intended use. This diet will feed both silkworms (bombyx mori) and hornworms (manduca sexta). Using this product will require a scale to weigh out the proper amount of powdered food.
